Law students from ILIRIA College participated, after many months of preparation, in the 4th edition of the international Vis Pre-Moot arbitration competition for the Western Balkans. The world's biggest competition in International Commercial Law and Arbitration, Willem C. Vis Moot, was held from March 23 to March 29 in Vienna.
The students from ILIRIA College, Ardit Veselaj, Gresa Berisha, Dafina Osmani, with their coaches such a as Saranda Cunaku and Klit Shala, participated in this competition alongside other students and judges from over 360 prestigious universities from all continents, from different countries of EU, US and other countries from the world.
Referring to this competition, Ardit Veselaj, a participating student stated:
"Participation in the Vienna Vis Moot project has been one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. To be honest, the beginning was quite difficult since I was not fully prepared for the format, but the tireless work we managed to do, the mentorship of the coaches and the team spirit made me commit myself to the competition with the whole spirit.
“The 6-month intensive work defines in the best way the success of the ILIRIA team in front of the competition that took place in Pristina at Vis Pre-Moot, Pittsburgh Pre-Moot rounds as well as in the Vienna Vis Moot competition where our team consistently received positive comments.
“Although it was an extremely hard period, thanks to this project I managed to have control over stress, increased self-confidence, increased knowledge of international law and arbitration, increased English language level, creation of new friendships with different people, study opportunities in different universities of the world etc. I am grateful to Iliria College forthis golden opportunity that has enabled me to be part of thisextremely fruitful project."
The competition "Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot", knows as “Vis Moot”, is an international contest of simulation of law student arbitration sessions held annually in Vienna, Austria, since 1994. Vis Moot is considered as one of the the most prestigious competition in the field of justice, and is often referred to as the "Justice Olympics" involving over 350 universities from around the world.
