In 2016 ILIRIA College participated for the first time in the world’s biggest competition in the field of International Commercial Law and Arbitration, Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, with the support of the US Embassy in Kosovo. In this competition over 310 universities have participated, including the most prestigious universities from around the world. The team was led by professors; Shpresa Ibrahimi, Visar Ramaj and Tringa Shkodra, while students who participated as representatives of the ILIRIA College in this competition were; Justina Frrokaj, Shaban Kryeziu, Valeza Kastrati, Lirika Bakija and Bashkim Halilaj. The teams which ILIRIA College competed against were: University of Warwick from England, HEC from Paris, Ankara University from Turkey, and Monash University of Australia. While in Vienna, at the ceremony of qualifications, Prof. Dr. Stefan Kröll, an internationally operating arbitrator with extensive publication and lecturing activities cited the quote of ILIRIA College vice-dean Ms. Shpresa Ibrahimi:
“Even though we are aware of the low possibility to win, taking in consider the fact that it is our first time here furthermore in an arbitration competition which is new for us, we feel honored for the opportunity to be here and having the chance to learn from all of you.
He further stated: “We are really happy to have such teams in our competition” putting this way ILIRIA College in the position of being an example for new teams participating in Willem C. Vis Arbitration Moot.
